Before dental implants, there were only traditional bridges and dentures. There’s no knocking them. They are serviceable appliances that give you back a full smile and help you to eat food efficiently. But what if you would like more than just serviceable and efficient? At Spring Family Dental, we are pleased to offer implants as the one and only way to restore a full tooth (or even multiple ones) in such a way as to mimic the best qualities of your natural teeth.
Are you a good candidate for our 40019 dental implants? You’ll find out the answer when you come in for a consultation, examination, and testing. Your gums should be generally in good shape, and your jaw bone has to be strong and thick enough to support your new tooth, because it has a root beneath the gum line in addition to the crown above it. What happens if your jaw does not test sufficiently? Bone grafting can be done to supplement your jaw tissue and that will make it possible for you to still benefit from our 40019 dental implants. There are two key components. First is a post, usually made from titanium, that is surgically placed in your jaw. This is your root, which helps to preserve your facial contours and keep your gum and bone tissue from atrophying. It takes a few months for your jaw bone to grow around and fuse with the post. A custom-made dental crown serves the role of your tooth, and is then cemented to the top. In some cases, a support anchor will also be part of the completed implant.
Our 40019 dental implants are completely dependable, require no messy adhesives, and do not affect your other teeth. Say goodbye to that empty space where you used to have a tooth. Contact us now to arrange an appointment.
